MICHAELA STITH

Born and raised in Anchorage, Michaela Stith is passionate about social and environmental justice in the Arctic. Ms. Stith came to North Star Group after finishing an immersive Hart Fellowship with the Arctic Council Indigenous Peoples’ Secretariat in Tromsø, Norway. She is well-versed in the principles of community-based research and has worked with various Anchorage-based organizations, environmental non-profits, and research groups. While earning her Duke University bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science & Policy, Ms. Stith completed a thesis on Arctic cruise tourism, studied abroad in Iceland and Greenland, and earned a concentration in marine conservation. Fun fact: Michaela has traveled to all eight Arctic states.
