Senate Environment & Public Works Committee hearing on the Federal Role in Keeping Water and Waste water Infrastructure Affordable

In his opening statement, Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-OK) said the EPA has identified $384 billion in drinking water infrastructure needs and $271 billion in wastewater needs over the next 20 years, based on local utility capital improvement plans. As a general rule, these local expenditures are paid appropriately by U.S. citizens through water and sewer service bills.
